Barry Allen is a scientist in the Criminal and Forensic Science Division of Central City Police Department, and a metahuman with various super powers and abilities, most notably super speed.. He is the Leader of the Justice League, known as The Flash.

Destiny[]
Barry is called to a crime scene by Joe West. When Barry arrives Joe explains that a break-in had occurred the night before and motions towards a white sheet before mentioning that the victim was Penny Dee. Barry lifts the sheet off of her in order to analyze Penny's dead body. Joe asks what Barry thinks the cause of her death was, to which Barry can't seem to answer. Barry asks if there was any security camera footage from the night before. As he asks, another police officer calls Barry and Joe over to show them something, which is footage from Penny's home security system. The footage shows Penny watching TV as her front door opens seemingly on it's own. She pauses the television and goes to investigate, and finds a man with a blue cloak and a skeleton mask standing before her. Penny grabs a gun from inside a vase, threatening to shoot the intruder. The intruder simply laughs, recalling he hid that gun, among other weapons around the house. In disbelief Penny asks if the intruder is John, her ex-husband. John growls that she shouldn't have abandoned him when he was first arrested. He pulls a device from out of his cloak and turns on the device. Penny's body stiffens as she begins to scream. She falls to her knees, dropping the gun, screaming and crying. John picks the gun up and goes to tuck it into his shirt, but glances up at the camera and shoots it, the camera turning to static. After watching the video, Barry deduces that Penny's ex-husband must have been released from jail, or escaped, and returned home to enact revenge. He receives a phone call from his wife and Joe's daughter Iris that there is a robbery in progress at the Central City National Bank. Barry tells Joe that they'll continue the investigation of Dee later on in the day and speeds off.
As the Flash arrives outside the bank he finds shattered glass among limp bodies on the floor. Kid Flash speeds into the scene, questioning what's going on. Flash decides that this was no basic robbery as the two speed into the bank vault, to find a man in a blue cloak. The man turns to reveal a skeleton mask. He drops his duffel bag filled with money and laughs, noting that he expected the Scarlet Speedsters to show up. Flash reveals he know the mystery man's identity is John Dee, and that he'll be going back to jail shortly. Dee's laughter stops, claiming John Dee to be "dead", and tells Flash and Kid Flash to refer to him as "Doctor Destiny". Kid Flash uses his super speed in an attempt to attack Doctor Destiny, but as Wally begins to rush him, the Materioptikon is activated and Wally stops dead in his tracks, collapsing to the floor, appearing unconscious. Barry rushes to Wally's aid in an attempt to wake him up. Doctor Destiny towers over Barry, laughing as he fails to awaken Wally. Barry attempts to attack Doctor Destiny, but he picks Barry up and throws him through a wall in the bank. Barry struggles to his feet, and as he does, he finds Doctor Destiny and the money gone, with Wally still asleep on the floor.
Barry rushes into S.T.A.R. Labs with Wally's unconscious body in his arms, calling out for help. Iris rushes in and screams in shock to find Barry holding Wally's unconscious body. Cisco and Caitlin follow Iris in and are also shocked, as Caitlin attempts to remain calm and orders Barry to put Wally down in one of the chairs so she can operate on him. Barry quickly puts Wally down as Cisco and Caitlin get to work. Iris, who has somewhat calmed down at this point, demands to know what happened. Barry explains they went to the bank to stop the robbery and found John Dee, the same man who killed his wife Penny the night before. Cisco rushes to the nearest computer to do research on John Dee as Barry continues to explain what happened. Caitlin tells Barry, Iris and Cisco that Wally seems to be in a comatose state, noting that everything is okay other than the fact that he won't wake up. Barry decides to form a team so he goes over to Star City.
